What is a neurologist?

A neurologist is a medical doctor with specialized training in diagnosing, treating and managing disorders of the brain and nervous system. Pediatric neurologist are doctors with specialized training in childrenís neurological disorders.

A neurologistís education background and medical training includes an undergraduate degree, four years of medical school, one year internship and three years of specialized training in neurology, fellowship training is an additional year of further specialized training; such as neuro-muscular, stroke, epilepsy or movement disorders.
